Postural & Biomechanical Cueing

Postural & Biomechanical Cueing
We depend on muscle balance for good posture. However, muscle balance is heavily influenced by gravity as well as various internal and external forces. These forces influence the line of pull of the muscles that support the structure of our bodies.

Abnormal forces acting on our muscles can result in abnormal loading as well as bad or abnormal posture. When abnormal postures are sustained for a period they cause imbalances in muscles, such as E.g. carrying a heavy bag on one side of your body repeatedly, sitting with your back slumped or standing with your weight on one leg.
Muscle imbalances can cause pain. Correcting them will not only relieve pain but also help to improve the performance and function of your muscles.

Our approach
We at SoundSide Physical Therapy have thorough knowledge of kinematics, biomechanics and the ability to correct the correction of abnormal loading. With our skills and knowledge, we can provide you with a comprehensive treatment plan to correct postural dysfunction as well as dynamic movement.

Our physical therapists rely on thorough and targeted assessments. These help to identify the source or cause of pain. We are therefore able to provide our clients with treatment plans that not only target posture dysfunction but also help to eliminate the source of the problem.

Our patients are able to regain optimal functionality and live a pain free life thereafter. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an athlete or recovering from a condition or injury that resulted in the postural dysfunction. We will provide you with the care you need to improve the quality of your life.
