Physical Therapy is one of the most common treatments because it helps Parkinson's patients with coordination, mobility, and balance issues. SoundSide Physical Therapy will assist in increasing strength, flexibility, and endurance. It can even help Parkinson's patients to regain lost skills like standing, walking, and reaching for objects.

We use various techniques such as exercises, stretching, therapeutic activities, and balance training to help Parkinson's patients improve their overall mobility.

Physical Therapy can also be beneficial in improving posture, gait, coordination, and even speech. At SoundSide Physical Therapy, we first assess each Parkinson's patient's individual needs to enable us to create a customized program.

Emily Pape of SoundSide Physical Therapy has her certification in LSVT BIG treatment. The LSVT BIG treatment protocol is clinically proven and widely used physical therapy program to improve movement and quality of life in individuals with Parkinson's Disease (PD). LSVT Global, Inc. developed LSVT BIG as an evidence-based intervention for people with PD who have difficulty walking or performing everyday activities. The LSVT BIG program is typically administered 4-5 times per week, each session running 45 minutes. LSVT BIG focuses on improving motor function and muscle strength by increasing the size of movements and building endurance. LSVT BIG also emphasizes intensive repetitive practice to improve balance, gait, body awareness, posture, and coordination of movement.
